About

Twofolds started because we could not find a tee that was heavy enough to hang properly and honest enough about what it cost to make. So we made one, then a closed run of our own.

The name

A fold is a weakness and a structure. A print is an image and a chemical process. A tee is the least considered thing in a wardrobe and the one worn most. The brand is named for that doubleness, and the mascot is split down the middle because we thought it was funny and then could not stop looking at it.

We are launching, not celebrating an anniversary. The pattern has been redrawn more times than we would like to admit, the first run is on the press, and the fabric was chosen by ordering it, wearing it and washing it until something survived. Everything on this site is the first release.

Every colourway is a fixed, closed run from the outset, not as a scarcity tactic, but because committing to a number forces you to be certain about every decision before the fabric is cut.

The Twofolds mascots together in the store: a couple, a seated figure, a figure with a backpack, and a group of three friends
